A small, private, non-profit organization has worked to raise the funds needed to build a new fitness center. This fitness center was marketed as a center to be used by the organization’s clients, employees, and their families. However, after the organization over spent about one million dollars the funds to run the center are nonexistent. As a result, the organizations leadership announced employees would have to pay a membership fee to use the fitness center. Also, due to the economic downturn the organization would not be offering cost-of-living pay increases (Cafferky, 2012). This still happened even after employees had put their own money into this project. These decisions made by the leadership will likely result in a lower employee morale and lack of trust. Employee morale is boasted by employees being positive about their work environment and believe that they can meet their most important needs at work (Arunchand & Ramanathan, 2013). The non-profit did just the opposite. Trust contributes to an organization employee’s willingness to do good for others without except a favor and trust mobilizes people to take action when task are delegated (Cafferky, 2012). The organizations product may decrease as well as an increase in opened positions. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:18, KJV). Often it is hard to remember, yet we are called to give thanks in all things; this means in the good times and in the bad times. In an organization such as this one. In these bad times employees need to remember the small things to be grateful for.
