1. Personal Career Development Plan – Interview Questions

Where do you want to be in five years professionally? Prepare a plan outlining your career goals and the development plan you think you need to follow to achieve those professional goals. Include research about what you need to do to accomplish those goals. You must talk to at least one professional in the field and get their insight on what you need to know & experience to earn the job you want. If you need contacts, please let me know. You may NOT interview someone you have interviewed in the past or someone at your current job. You should include examples from class of what you have learned and how you will implement it. Make sure you consider your competencies and values.

For the interview: Create 6-10 thoughtful questions to ask your professional that will give you insight to their job duties and experiences in the field. Provide brief answers/notes from your conversation. These can be bullet pointed or outlined.

2. Paper:

Use APA format and cite your sources. The paper should be 3-5 pages in length (double spaced, 12-point font) and include 2-3 outside written sources, e.g. book, professional journal, article or publication, etc. One of these sources should be Good Boss, Bad Boss. Paper due Sunday, October 10th at 11:59pm.

3. Explain why many people are willing to pay more for branded products than for unbranded products. What does this tell you about the value of branding? (see review material and reference in attachment) Around 200 words.

4.Go back to Week 4 Discussions and look at everyone’s dream jobs. Who can you help? Who do you know? Do you have any friends or colleagues who have contacts in those companies? If there is no one that you can help, what companies/industries within the Bay area do you have contacts? Please list the company’s names so that other students can see them. You never know what another student is interested until you start the conversation! (I will give you two student’s post, and let’s use those two people’s post as a reply resources. I will talk to you in details)
