The project–Kiefer Sports Equipment Case requires that you address accounting issues from your previous accounting courses, but, from the perspective of an auditor. The first file below this one, explains the Case and the requirements for a summary memorandum.
Submit your memorandum no later than 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021. Submit your memorandum in Word, RTF, or PDF to the link below (in this module). A solution will become visible at 1 a.m. the following day.
Prior to your submission of the memorandum for grading, you can get a piece of information that can help you determine if you got it or are close. One of the items due in the memorandum is a table summarizing the income effects (before taxes) of the entries you propose listing the proposed adjustments $ amounts, and effect (increase or decrease) on net income of each entry and the total. Once you have developed those numbers and while you are still in draft form, you can email your instructor with your amounts and you will be provided a “check figure” of the total of all changes. Note, you may not request the check figure unless you provide the numbers you have developed and and the request must be submitted by email no later than Monday, Dec. 6, 8a.m.
A file with the grading criteria is also in the module. If you choose not to complete and submit the required memorandum, your course grade will be no higher than a “B”.
