1. Open HW8_P1.dwg in Civil3D. Complete the following tasks.

Create sample lines along the Jordan Court alignment.
a. Make “Design” the sample line group name.

c. Sample line label style: “Section Name”
d. Only put a check in the box next to Jordan Court
e. On the Sample Line Tools toolbar, select the creation method “From Corridor
Stations.” Accept defaults.

Create a cross-section view of station 13+25 on the right side of the drawing by clicking on the
sample line at that station.

3. Open HW8_P3.dwg in Civil3D. Complete the following tasks.

4. Open HW8_P4.dwg in Civil3D.

a. Create a sewer pipe network from the green polyline along Jordan Court by clicking on “Pipe
network” -> “Create pipe network from object”.
a. Click on the green polyline and accept the current flow direction.
b. Network name: “Sanitary”
c. Network parts list: “Sanitary Sewer”
d. Surface name: “Road FG”
e. Alignment name: “Jordan Court”
f. Check the “erase existing entity” box.
b. Repeat the process for Madison Lane. Use a network name of “Sanitary-2”
c. Repeat the process for the Madison Lane cul-de-sac. Use a network name of “Sanitary-3”
5. Open HW8_P5.dwg in Civil3D. Complete the following tasks.

Create a stormwater pipe network along Jordan Court that discharges at a location across
Emerson Road through “Pipe network” -> “Pipe network creation tools”.
a. Network name: “Storm1”
b. Network parts list: “Storm Sewer”
c. Surface name: “Road FG”
d. Alignment name: “Jordan Court”
e. Click OK. Insert a curb inlet structure on Jordan Court at station 5+50.
i. Select the Rectangular Junction Structure NF -> Curb Inlet
ii. Select the concrete pipe -> 15 inch diameter
f. Turn off all object snapping except for Center snapping
g. Click on the center of the red circle to the east of station 5+50.
h. Click on the center of the red circle to the west of station 5+50.
i. Click on the center of the red circle to the south of station 2+40.42.
j. Change the pipe diameter now to 18 inch concrete pipe.
k. Click on the center of the red circle at station 2+40.42.
l. Insert a storm manhole structure.
i. Select the Cylindrical Junction Structure NF -> Storm Manhole
ii. Select the concrete pipe -> 24 inch diameter
m. Click on the center of the red circle located at the western corner of the Common
Area.
n. Insert a headwall structure.
i. Select the Concrete Rectangular Winged Headwall -> Winged Headwall for 24”
o. Click on the center of the red circle on the opposite side of Emerson Road
.
6. Complete Module 8 – Tutorial 1 – “Configuring Pipe Networks.” This problem shows you how to
create and edit the parts list for a pipe network.
