Final Version

Based on the feedback you’ll receive from peer reviews on the first version of your paper, and reflecting additional research that you do, revise your policy paper. This version should be not less than 3500 words (discounting references). You could include additional references, like scholarly journal articles, if necessary. In total, your final version of your paper should reflect and integrate all of the ethical considerations that we have covered in the course: from the ethical theories as reflected in the policy position that you are taking, to the sorts of media sources that you are using, to the understandings that you are making concerning the social and political implications of the technology that you are addressing.

Here is my professor’s comment for the first version

For the final version of your policy paper on privacy and IoT/digital divide, I recommend that you revise it by addressing your reviewer’s (Hung Ta) suggestions, including paraphrasing any cited ideas in your own words. I would also like to see you describe the underlying ethical principles that support your argument, i.e. how ethical theory can assist in justifying your proposed policy. And last, just as important, I’d like to see you raise the best objection to your position that you can imagine. Here you should raise an important opposing viewpoint to your proposal, and then try to respond to this opposing view to the best you can. You may not have a good reply, but at least you should acknowledge and explain it. This should strengthen your paper. I look forward to your last revised version.
