Imagine that you are student teaching and on a Friday afternoon, your mentor teacher has asked to see an outline of your ideas for the following week. Pick any middle school grade you would like as well as a potential unit of study in your content area. Sketch out five days of lessons. (These do not need to be formal lesson plans.) Include specific references to the variety of teaching styles discussed in Chapter 5 that you will use (e.g., lecture, discussion, and/or experiential learning) and/or to the differences in the type of presentation aids from Box 6.1 that you will use. You should have a minimum of 500 words and can be presented with a calendar to meet the word requirement if you wish.
